Learn the truth about Post Abortive Syndrome…

What are some post abortion symptoms?

from:

The effects of abortion on a society are numerous and post abortion symptoms are prevalent among the woman of our society. The abortion phenomenon has been victimizing women as well as the unborn. The tragedy lies in abortion clinics forgetting that a woman has a heart and a mind. The clinics ignore post abortion symptoms.

Post abortion symptoms are numerous. One of them is post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD is a psychological disorder that affects individuals who have been involved in intense traumatic events such as torture, murder, rape, or war. Often PTSD includes frequently rehashing the event in the mind of the effected individual: nightmares, fatigue, irritability, nervousness, forgetfulness, and/or social withdraw.
Relationship problems often occur after an abortion. This is possibly due to sexual dysfunction, especially considering many women withdraw socially. Adding to relationship problems is the effect of another pregnancy among women who have opted or have been coerced into an abortion. The second pregnancy often leads to another abortion.
Studies display several concerns regarding the effect of abortion on women. Clinical depression is prevalent among married women who have had an abortion. Suicidal thoughts are common among teenagers who have recently had an abortion. Eating disorders are widespread in post abortion symptoms for women of all ages.

The suggestion that there is no correlation between these symptoms and women who have had abortions is outrageous. Medical journals have stepped out of their comfort zone and published articles that overcome the pro-choice rhetoric. Some have argued abortion as harmless; we now know abortion causes the death of a child and also creates a deeply wounded woman.

Post-abortion Syndrome – The Symptoms
Post-abortion Syndrome symptoms may start immediately or years later. While the medical community may argue as to the validity of it, as a former Pro-choice believer I can assure you it is real. After the initial tears of despair from the emotional loss and the physical pain are gone, the decision to end a life haunts you. Was it a boy? Was it a girl? How old would he or she be today? If only…

Question after question, and reminder after reminder, bring you deeper into despair.
Post-abortion Syndrome – The Guilt & Depression
Post-abortion Syndrome victims often deny having abortions due to the guilt and depression associated with it. This makes documentation of it, also known as Post-traumatic Stress Syndrome, very difficult.

The symptoms range from mild depression to suicidal thoughts and can also be linked to other emotional behaviors such as Eating Disorders, Drug or Alcohol Abuse, and Self Punishment. Millions of women have had abortions only to discover an emotional dilemma that won’t go away. Post-abortion Syndrome can affect men as well as women. That’s right — men too can experience the symptoms of it years after the abortion.
Post-abortion Syndrome – The Gift of Forgiveness
Post-abortion Syndrome symptoms can come and go until you address the core of the problem. You made the decision to have, or allow an abortion (and you will need to reconcile your decision). If you do something you regret to others, you apologize, but only after you can admit to yourself that you have done them wrong. This is the first step in leaving your past in the past for good! Once you have acknowledged to yourself that you regret the decision to abort your child, you need to forgive yourself. How could anyone ever forgive someone for killing a child? This act of forgiveness requires a love greater than you or I could possibly possess. So what’s the answer? There is a God who loves you and knew you when you were in your mother’s womb. He created you to have a relationship with Him. He sent His Son to die for the forgiveness of your sins and He alone holds the love needed to heal your pain. Once you have acknowledged to your Creator, and yourself, that you regret the decision of having an abortion, ask Him to forgive you.

Hi Sarah, I agree with everything posted here. I used to be a post-abortion counsellor in Toronto, as well as a pro-life counsellor. We led many to the Lord, including Denise Mountenay who has written a book about it: Silent no More!

In it all, I learned this: the catholics and the protestants (with so many, many factions) all want to see Jesus glorified, but have not figured out this: By this shall all men know you are my disciples; when you have love, one for the other.” Without this love, there is no witness.

If the only aspect of Christianity that the world knows is one that requires people to ‘go to church’, (for something called, Sunday Service, )erect a building on every corner in every town, teach people to pay a tithe, idolise a pastor, then what did Jesus give His Life for? The jews knew how to do all that. What was Stephen stoned for? What did Paul lay? Our Lord paid such a high price for what? Another religion?

Oh, terrible how the people of God since long ago abandoned what He Himself gave!

And the result? demons walk around acting as if the Cross and the Resurrection are merely emblems of something which probably didn’t happen in history, because the believers walk around with the same attitude! Where is the Romans 6 in their lives?

Now is the time to confess the sins of our forefathers which allowed so much heresy, so much division and so much out and out sin…the altars of Molech are still burning because the people of God have allowed it. Terrible! Come out! Touch no unclean thing!

    Dear Trish,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write!

You are so right about the time to confess the sins of our forefathers, and our own for allowing this heresy.

I agree with your comment and it’s encouraging to hear from someone who understands this.

God bless you for the work you have done in counseling post abortive women, that is a wonderful ministry!

There is a group called, “Silent No More”, Is Denise connected to this group?

    Thank you so much,
    God bless you,
    In our Savior’s love,
    Sarah

  6. Sarah Says:

    Hello DJ-
This is a remarkable statement- I understand where you are coming from and would agree with you except for one thing- I have met God through Jesus Christ my Lord, He is the living God and the One true God. His Spirit lives within me, I have been born through Jesus Christ and now I am His. This is wisdom from above, wisdom provided for by God- salvation is of God, man cannot save himself.
No matter how much faith a human person can have, it is not enough to save them because it is still only human faith. The faith that saves a person is by the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ who gives it to those who seek Him and search for Him in truth. He alone knows the heart of a person, if a person is genuinely seeking Him and ask Him for the saving faith He gives through Jesus Christ, He will give it. Pursue the Lord Jesus and seek Him.
I have already died to my self and Jesus lives in and through me now. It would be a easy choice to stand for my Jesus even if it meant death for me.

Here are a few verses from the letter that God provided to mankind, called the Bible:

Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
    (Romans 3:19-28)

I would hope that since you are against abortions so much you would be in favor for sexual education and and birth control since that is the BEST way to stop abortions from happening to begin with. Thank you.

  8. Sarah Says:

    Jess,
Young people need to learn the fear of the Lord- That is the BEST way to stop abortions from happening to begin with-
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
    (Psalms 111:10)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
    (Proverbs 1:7)
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
    (Proverbs 9:9-11)

  10. Sarah Says:

For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.
    (Philippians 3:18-19)

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord. But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction, suffering wrong as the wage for their wrongdoing. They count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, while they feast with you. They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, but was rebuked for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness. These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error. They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.
    (2 Peter 2:9-19)
