Standing at the gates of the Temple of Moloch, pleading with uninformed and misinformed mothers for the life of their innocent babies.

Molech: The Rabbins describe this idol as made of brass sitting upon a throne of the same metal, in the form of a man, with the head of a calf, adorned with a royal crown, and his arms extended as if to embrace any one. When they offered any children to him, they heated the statue by a great fire kindled within, and the victim was put into his arms, and thus consumed. Others relate, that the idol, which was hollow, was divided into seven compartments within; in one of which they put flour, in the second turtles, in the third a ewe, in the fourth a ram, in the fifth a calf, in the sixth an ox, and the seventh a child; which were all burnt together by heating the statue inside. The account which Diodorus (l. xx.) gives of the statue of Saturn, to which the Carthaginians, descendants of the Canaanites, sacrificed their children, is very similar. For they had a brazen stature of Saturn, stretching out his hands towards the ground, in such a manner that the children placed within them tumbled down into a pit full of fire.
–Treasury of Scriptural Knowledge by Canne, Browne, Blayney, Scott, and others about 1880, with introduction by R. A. Torrey.

The definition given above ought to cause all of us to shudder with anguish and indignation and yet this same thing is happening now in our time and in our own cities. It looks different now and has a different name and the idol is not so easily seen but the principal is the same; children are being killed, sacrificed for the worship of a god.

The idol (false god) is now primarily Self Love: “I can’t have this baby right now”, “This baby will ruin my life”, “If I have this baby I won’t be able to do the things I want to do”, etc. and so the child is sacrificed for the parents convenience.
The place of sacrifice is now called a clinic instead of a temple.

The parallel is phenomenal and there are many scriptures which warn of God’s hatred for the act of shedding innocent blood.

Levitecus 20:2-5
“Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.
And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:
Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people. ”

See how serious a thing this is before Almighty God!

Deuteronomy 12:31
“Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.”

Psalms 106:34-40
They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them: But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

Jeremiah 7:31-32
“And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart. Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.”

Ezekiel 23:37
“That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.”

Leviticus 18:21
“And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.”

Jeremiah 32:35
“And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.”

Ezekiel 16:20
“Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?”

And from, Matthew Henry’s Commentary on the Whole Bible:

Eze 16:20  Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters,…. Their own flesh and blood; which were more than to take their clothes, and cover their idols with them, and their food, and set it before them to part with them was much, but to part with these, and that in such a shocking manner as after mentioned, was so irrational and unnatural, as well as impious and wicked, as is not to be paralleled; and what increased their wickedness was, that these were not only their own, but the Lord’s:

whom thou hast borne unto me; for, though they were born of them, they were born unto the Lord, the Creator of them, the Father of their spirits, and God of their lives, and who had the sole right to dispose of them; nor was it in the power of their parents to take away their life at pleasure; for the Lord only has the sovereign power of life and death:

and these hast thou sacrificed unto them: the male images before mentioned; one of which was Molech, who is here particularly designed:

to be devoured; in the arms of that image; or to be consumed by fire, in which they were burnt, when sacrificed unto it. The Targum is,

“for oblation and worship;”

is this of thy whoredoms a small matter; which was so dreadfully heinous and inhuman, yet by some reckoned a small matter; this was not the least of their idolatries, but, of all, the most shocking, and the most aggravated: or the sense is, is it a small thing that thou shouldest play the harlot, or worship idols? is it not enough for thee to do so, but thou must sacrifice thy children also to them? and which are not only thine, but mine.”

Abortion is the name we now give to this wicked practice. Surely we as a people are under grave judgment from God and we aught to tremble before His Holy name who will not forgive the wholesale shedding of innocent blood.
“Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.” (2 Kings 21:16)
“And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.” (2 Kings 24:4)

–We do not condone violence against those committing abortions but hope they will realize the seriousness of this sin and their plight before a Holy God who will not spare and whose judgment is just and that they will turn to Jesus Christ for salvation from His judgment.

Hi Leah ,I came across this blog in search of some answers ,the LORD has been speaking to me lately about the state the world is in, ( Iam tend to be used in the relm of the prophectic) I am always amazed art how he takes the wek things of the world to confound the wise,me being that. I am not a political person nor do I really know what goes on in the world i hear things hear and ther but never really got to involved, The LORD has always used me in the realm of the church ,the state she is in and so forth, but if you are interested in reading what he has givn me the last little while e-mail me and I can send it to you, but the reaon I am sending this is because he gave me the word Canaanites the other day (not knowing a whole lot about them) then he said that America is the Canaanites, long story short, last nite he woke me up at 1:11Am. out of a dead sleep I heard him say pray against the spirit of Molech! Wellto my suprise this morning after reseaching a bit I saw it really is the abortion issues over America and the world, then I came across your blog, I really do not know where all this will take me but I felt to share that with you. Thank you for sharing, Michele.
It is neat how the Lord spoke to you about the Canaanites and Molech. Praise God that He has opened your eyes to see the seriousness of abortion. The blood of those precious babies cries out for judgment and I think that it will not be long before God withdraws His hand of mercy from our country.

I pray that God will show you what He wants you to do about it…but please do pray. Pray for the end of abortion and pray for us and others like us who cry out to the mothers at the very doors of the “temple”, to spare the life of their children.

    In Christ,

Psa 106:38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

I am sincerely grateful for this publication, and have saved it as a favorite. I; like many sheep have gone astray…and have subsequently conceived and gave birth to a 6 year old daughter and 2 year old son. Recalling how unenthusiastically their immediate family received me sometimes tempted me to wish that I had opted ‘otherwise’ than carrying out my pregnancies to terms. Yet I knew both times that such a choice would be detrimental not only to their amazing potential, but to the state of my soul as well. I have read evidence that our country is carrying out the missions of Molech and other pagan entities, and am certain that the abortion conspiracy is yet but another means of ‘keeping tradition alive’. It amazes me how much justification and defense I encounter from the (sadly) many women I know who’ve terminated their pregnancies—–yet how not one can argue with my logic of why I didn’t: “If the baby had a heartbeat by the time I learned I was pregnant; didn’t they have a soul also? How is my place to decide what becomes of that heartbeat and soul?”

    Dear Angelique,

Your comment covers a wide scope of thoughts that I hope many will consider:

. You realized the amazing potential of one un-born human person.

. You listened to your wise God-given conscience that warned you of the detriment abortion would do to your own soul.

. You suffered persecution for your upright decision by the very ones that should have supported you.

. You have become aware of the darkness in the realm of the occult.

. You understand that the unborn child has a God given soul, just like you and I have. (

. You know the frustration that comes from talking to ignorant and hardened people that support the hideous and morbid thing called abortion.

May God raise many more to stand against this evil!

I am grateful that you wrote this and for your insight, thank you so much!

In the love of Jesus Christ my Lord,

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
    (Jeremiah 1:5)

  6. Mark Says:

According to God you can. Here is my point, if you empower somebody to write legislation or pass laws that take the life of an innocent human being in the womb or nearly out of the womb you are just as guilty as the one you empowered, according to God. God says if you receive little children in His name you receive Him; God says whatever you did to the least of them you did it to me… and many other passages. Now why would you be held accountable for someone else’s ability to choose whether to kill the baby or let the baby live. Answer is very simple. God says in His Royal law, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”…. & if you even hate another human being you are guilty of murder (imagine the actual act is how much worse)… Let’s look at these arguments or examples.
Example 1: Let us say your friend wants to kill someone with a high-powered rifle, which he cannot get. You get him the rifle but don’t do the killing. Your friend is caught, there is a trial and the fact comes out that you purchased only the rifle for him. Would you be held as an accessory? Of course, you would! When we vote politicians in who choose abortion of a helpless babe, we give him that, “high-powered” rifle. Do you think the God who said whosoever looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her is dumb or insensitive? We know God is infinitely more powerful and wise!
Example 2: The politician who authorizes killing of human babies what if one day he was to authorize your killing by your neighbors, would he still have your vote? This is where Jesus’ Royal law comes in play, “whatever you would have other men do unto you do unto them”. Why is it your life is important to you and you would do everything to preserve it but not the life of the unborn?
Example 3: What if they had killed you at 4 year of age instead of trying to kill you now? Would you feel less pain or less anguish at 4 years of age? Ans. No! In like manner just cause a baby can’t speak doesn’t mean he can’t feel! When the baby is out of the womb, he will cry if you pinch him (in fact they cry and laugh in the womb…)! Read what John the Baptist did while in Elizabeth’s Womb.
Example 4: Some might say they are not human in the womb. I don’t know of any woman giving birth to a dog or a cat or a cow. If that is not human in the woman’s womb what is it when it looks like a human, breathes like a human, feels like you would feel, eats like a human when on its own out of the womb, etc.
Example 5: What about cases of rape or incest? Let’s assume my mother (that is not the case at all and I am not trying to insult my deceased and blessed mother, but just for the sake of argument…) my mother was a victim of one of these two sins and she gave birth to me but she hid the fact for till 20 years after I was born. One day at the dinner table in front of numerous other family members she reveals that I am an offspring of either rape or incest? Can my family members grab a knife and try to kill me? Would it be justified? NO!!! So why kill an innocent baby?
Example 6: Is it right to kill a twenty-year old man because he is dumb and cannot speak? What if he is also one who could not hear you coming to kill him and was in a wheelchair and could not get away? Not one or all of those reasons in a human would be valid, but they are in the case of a baby in the womb. The baby cannot speak, cannot run so I suppose it would be okay? What if you were the handicapped person would you want to live or meet your Maker immediately? Most of try to prolong our lives as much as possible. I bet you would get medical treatment when you are seriously ill, I am willing to say with a good measure of confidence that you would want medical treatment if you had a heart attack, a stroke or any other life threatening ailment. Question: What makes you “more special” than the baby? You aren’t entirely helpless. You can go to court, you can fight for your rights, and you can pick up a gun and defend yourself…. What if one day those rights are taken away from you? Would killing you be justified? Of course not! Murder is taking the unauthorized life of another human being for which there is no Moral justification.
If I could add one more point to this debate in light of the scriptures. Where would the world be today without Moses, Jeremiah, David, and most importantly Jesus? How do you know God wasn’t going to send us a deliverer for some human disease but the child God had in mind we end up aborting? Something to think about isn’t it? Also how do you justify partial & full term abortions? Your eyes can’t be that blind to a human baby crying in front of you? If one is under grace does he do less or more? If you said less I assure you, you haven’t known Jesus or you are way, way, way backslidden! Plus where is your faith? If you can’t even trust God for this thing which is common sense how will you trust Him for greater things? Examine yourself!!!

Never judge-that is the Lord’s job. You speak out of hate and ignorance. God does not want us to fight, hate, judge, or decide for him. You must love thy neighbor, forgive, pray for them, and look in the mirror, for that soul is the soul of your concern.

Do not preach what you do not know. I hate that you all waste so much time campaigning for something so personal and emotional and insignificant comparered to the world. God’s world…there is war…we are killing eachother over religion and power. I say embrace the people around you. Embrace those who may not share your beliefs, for they are their beliefs and whether or not you see it…those beliefs are more similar to your beliefs than you think. Stop this crusade. God wants you to live and learn from others. Embrace all life, do not let your heart fill with anger. Look up at the sky, thank God, and let love in.

  11. Sarah Says:

    To, s.s.
Friend, Everyone must judge in some way or another. Some examples for this: We judge that it is wrong to take something that does not belong to them, that is called stealing. We judge it is wrong to lie. We judge it is wrong to take the life of another person, that is called murder. We judge it is wrong for someone to damage another person’s property.
How can we judge that these are wrong? The answer is that God in His Word tells us: “They show that what the Law requires is written in their hearts, a fact to which their own consciences testify, and their thoughts will either accuse or excuse them” (Romans 2:15)
So you see, the law of God is written in our hearts, so we know when something is wrong.

We judge that murder is wrong. Was it not wrong when Hitler brutally killed and murdered 6 million Jewish people? Would you have cried out, “Don’t judge” for those who exposed the horror of the Holocaust through pictures and testimonies?

Abortion kills innocent children. America has created a Holocaust of over 53 million little ones, brutally killing them in the cruelest way imaginable.

Jesus says: “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” (John 7:24)
We are making a righteous judgment when we say murder is wrong, the brutally killing of babies is wrong– it is the greatest of all evils.

You, friend, have judged unrighteous judgment against us. It is because we love our neighbor that we plead for the little ones. We love the mothers, they will suffer great anguish for years to come because of their abortion. The choice they make for themselves is to kill another person, there is judgment from God for that. . . one cannot just kill another and expect to have peace in their hearts.
We do pray for them, more than you could possibly imagine.

  12. Sarah Says:

    To: s.s.
Friend, Are you telling me to embrace the people around me but forget the little ones that are being brutally slaughtered every few minutes in America? What kind of love would that be- to ignore the horror those little ones are going through and the horror the mothers are going through after they have killed the little treasure that God gave them to raise and love?

What kind of person do you think I am? It is because of love I do anything I do… I love the Lord Jesus Christ, He is God, He is the Lord… Everything He says is true, HE is all Truth.

If you really want to know truth read the Bible and seek God through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ created people and all things.. seek the Creator, not His creation.

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.
    (James 3:14-16)

A Psalm of David. O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend; in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honors those who fear the LORD; who swears to his own hurt and does not change; who does not put out his money at interest and does not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.
